Royal Enfield is breaking new ground by making its 350cc motorcycle range available for purchase online through Flipkart, beginning September 22, 2025. This move is part of the company’s push to adapt to changing consumer buying habits by leveraging e-commerce.
The online sales initiative will initially roll out in five cities: Bengaluru, Gurugram, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai. In these locations, customers will be able to order models such as the Bullet 350, Classic 350, Hunter 350, Goan Classic 350, and the Meteor 350 via Flipkart.
While buying and booking will happen on the Flipkart platform, delivery and after-sales service will still be handled by authorised Royal Enfield dealers in those cities. This hybrid model ensures that buyers get the convenience of online ordering without sacrificing dealership-based support.
A major incentive for customers is a new tax regime: motorcycles with engine capacity up to 350cc will benefit from a Goods & Services Tax (GST) rate lowered from 28% to 18%. The new rate comes into effect on the same date — September 22. This reduction translates into lower ex-showroom prices for the eligible models.
Officials from Royal Enfield say the partnership with Flipkart reflects the company’s willingness to meet “digital-first” customers where they are, offering both convenience and flexibility in purchase options.
This development also coincides with the Big Billion Days sale on Flipkart, meaning that customers in the five launch cities may see access to Royal Enfield’s 350cc bikes under this large-scale online sale event.
Royal Enfield has emphasised maintaining the customer experience long associated with its brand. Although online channel is being introduced, the handover and service will be local, preserving the touchpoints buyers are used to. The initiative is also being seen as an effort to expand market reach, particularly among buyers who prefer online shopping.
With the integration of GST benefits, online ordering, and dealership service for delivery and maintenance, Royal Enfield’s approach could mark a shift in how premium mid-sized motorcycles are retailed in India. As the launch date approaches, performance in the five pilot cities will likely shape whether this model is extended more widely.
If you like, I can prepare a version that includes model-wise price differences after the GST cut.
